2024 Reflection

What a year it's been. I'll be honest, this time last year, so many jobs were up in the air; I said yes to everything. And I'm so glad I did. First of all, all the jobs that weren't confirmed, ended up going through. This meant back to back commissions, with overlapping projects, as well as fulfilling jewellery orders from the Great Frog and my website. It was a lot.

I even got to paint a bunch.

Here's how it went....

At the start of the year, I decided to paint the seasons as I passed through each one. This was prompted by finding canvases, coupled with a need to paint! (and wanting to do something with all the ref pictures I take whilst out and about).

And below are the 4 resulting paintings. I tried to capture the feeling of each season. Spring: fresh, Summer: the land of opportunity and Autumn, a mesh of things.

Then Winter. An obscure vision, perhaps a rebellion to using reference for most of the year. Anyway, that will be completed in the next month. They will all become greetings cards. But most importantly, the daubing kept me sane on every Sunday I got to paint :)

Now, onto the work part...

Pictured here, The Spiration Deck from the WOM Show, My wall in Kosovo Meeting of Styles, The Moth Jumper and the Deck & Art Print in store at Vans Oxford Street London.

Highlights of 2024 include:

Exhibiting in South London in the WOM Group Exhibition

Painting my largest wall yet by entering Meeting of Styles Kosovo

Collaborating with Capital T and visiting Warsaw

Commissioned by Vans to design a deck for their Oxford Street store

And finally learning to make latches and large hoop earrings.

As well as those milestones; I also got to make many interesting commissions, allowing me to try techniques which, for me, were totally new. I made a Spray cap version of the All Seeing Eye ring, a sheet metal cut bracelet, XXL sized items & a custom fit Dog Bangle.

The Pangolin ring also came into existence, along side The Lotus hoops and of course the Pierrot Pendant.

This last year, considering how shaky it started off, has been an absolute blessing. I couldn't have imagined it going so well. So a massive thank you to all my clients, followers and friends for the support. It is so appreciated. I consider myself lucky to create everyday and couldn't do it without you.

I feel like I reached a beautiful balance between artwork and jewellery this year. I'm enjoying them merging together over time and am excited what 2025 has in store.

Check out the video below of 2024's yearly rundown.

Thanks for looking. You're the best

Isabel
