A few months ago, Craig commissioned a thick link chain. He liked it so much he came back to order a matching bracelet.

Both pieces are made from solid sterling silver, and also feature 3 solid gold links.

Admittedly I liked his chain so much, I made myself one, again with gold links.

(I did check if it was ok with him, great guy, didn't mind at all).

Craig sent me measurements of his best fitting bracelets and his wrist. I measured out the links and sent Craig a quote before work got started.

Once the numbers were all agreed upon, the links were cast, cleaned up and ready for assembly.

Here's how it went>>>

Elfin Workshop Tottenham London

Here you see me preparing each link by rough and fine sanding.

The next step is to solder the links together.

I cut and shape end pieces featuring the elfin logo, & show you how I clean up solder joins for a seamless finish.

The next big task is polishing the links once assembled.

This is a dangerous job, please never polish chain without experience.

The first machine polish involves a compound that removes fine scratches.

The second round on the machine is for the rouge compound; producing a mirror shine.

I've been polishing jeweller for 13years and some pieces still have me holding my breath in the final stages. Sometimes nerve wracking but always satisfying.

Craig received his bracelet and immediately got in touch to say how pleased he is.

What an absolute pleasure to make it for him. It makes me very happy for customers to return again and again. Thank you Craig!
